Dr. Susan C. Aldridge
Dr. Susan C. Aldridge serves as senior vice president for Online Learning at Drexel University and president of Drexel University Online, where she is responsible for building an administrative division that provides comprehensive services for online students, while also pursuing innovative approaches to online curricula, teaching, and student assessment. Drexel University is a premier, private non-profit university offering more than 100 high-quality academic programs on campus and online.
A highly accomplished and widely recognized higher education leader and strategist, both here at home and abroad, Dr. Aldridge has held executive leadership positions in some of the largest universities in the country. She spent six years as president of University of Maryland University College, and, prior to that, 10 years as vice chancellor for the Global Campus at Troy University in Alabama.
During her tenure, both of these universities greatly expanded their global reach; implemented a series of sustainable growth strategies; effected sophisticated analytic systems for measuring quality service and student success; and received outstanding accreditation reviews.
Before joining Drexel University, Dr. Aldridge also served as a senior fellow at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities where she was commissioned to write a book, Wired for Success, which she co-authored with Kathleen Harvatt.
Dr. Aldridge is a frequent keynote speaker at national and international conferences and consultant to university presidents, government officials and business leaders in the areas of quality technology-enhanced learning, expanded academic access, increased student success, sustainable campus growth and global academic partnerships.
Likewise, she has received numerous awards in recognition of her achievements from such organizations as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Social Security Administration, U.S. Administration on Aging, U.S. Distance Learning Association and Women in Technology.
Dr. Aldridge received her doctorate and master’s degree from the University of Colorado and her bachelor’s degree from Colorado Women’s College.
