Tia Abner is responsible for new client acquisition and account expansion across multiple industry segments. In addition, Tia works collaboratively with leadership to plan strategically for the growth and expansion of programs through networking and outreach efforts. Tia comes to STEMconnector from National 4-H Council, where she served as the Corporate Partnership Strategy and Engagement Lead for the Council’s STEM portfolio. Prior to that position, Tia served in roles ranging from sales & marketing and fundraising/principal gifts to community engagement in various international development, performing arts, science and health care organizations. Her expertise includes managing customer engagement life-cycle activities and stakeholder relations and communications.
Tia holds a BS in Integrated Science and Technology from James Madison University, an MA in Strategic Communication and is pursuing an MBA in Global Leadership at Georgetown University.
As the daughter of a CTO and a Medical Technologist, Tia understands first-hand the importance of quality STEM Education as a key driver of opportunity, and advocates for effective systemic change including planning, implementing and sustaining reforms that improve STEM student learning and success, particularly for students who come from underrepresented populations. Tia lives in suburban Maryland with her six-year old son, an aspiring herpetologist.
